This Terms of Use Policy (together with the documents referred to in it) tells you the terms of use on which you may make use of our website https://colony.io (our site) and any of our applications from time to time (apps), whether as a guest or a registered user. Use of our site and apps includes accessing, browsing, downloading from, uploading to, creating material on or registering to use our site.

Please read these terms of use carefully before you start to use our site or apps, as these will apply to your use of our site and apps.

In particular we draw your attention to the section on user relationships that explains you alone are responsible for any relationship or arrangement you enter into with other users of the site.

Our Site is a site operated by Metacolony Inc (we, our or us). We are registered in the Republic of Panama under company number 2021—21624, and have our registered office at First Floor, Advanced Tower Building, Ricardo Arlas Street, Panama City, Republic of Panama.

We are a limited company and Colony is our trading name.

Changes to Our Site and Apps

We may update our site and apps from time to time, and may change the content at any time. However, please note that any of the content on our site or apps may be out of date at any given time, and we are under no obligation to update it. We do not guarantee that our site and apps, or any content on them, will be free from errors or omissions.

Privacy Policy

Metacolony Inc of c/o Mata & Pitti, First Floor, Advanced Tower Building, Ricardo Arlas Street, Panama City, Republic of Panama ("we" or “us”) are committed to protecting and respecting your privacy.

This policy (together with our terms of use) sets out the limited basis on which any personal data we collect from you, or that you provide to us, will be processed by us when you use our decentralised network built on the Ethereum Blockchain (“Colony”). Please read the following carefully to understand our views and practices regarding your personal data and how we will treat it.

This privacy policy (the “Policy”) applies to personal data that we collect from you for the purposes set out below. To the extent that use of Colony for the purposes described in the whitepaper results in us processing personal data for additional limited purposes this Policy shall apply to such further purposes.

It is important that you read this Policy so that you are fully aware of how and why we are using your data. We do not knowingly collect data relating to children.

Piwik

We use Piwik PRO Analytics Suite as our website/app analytics software and consent management tool. We collect data about website visitors based on cookies. The collected information may include a visitor’s IP address, operating system, browser ID, browsing activity and other information. See the scope of data collected by Piwik PRO.

We calculate metrics like bounce rate, page views, sessions and the like to understand how our website/app is used. We may also create visitors’ profiles based on browsing history to analyse visitor behaviour, show personalised content and run online campaigns.

Piwik’s solution is hosted on Microsoft Azure in Germany/Netherlands/United States/Hong Kong/ElastX in Sweden, and the data is stored for 25 months.

The purpose of data processing: analytics and conversion tracking based on consent. Legal basis: Art. 6 (1)(a) GDPR.

Piwik PRO does not send the data about you to any other sub-processors or third parties and does not use it for its own purposes. For more, read Piwik PRO’s privacy policy.

Google Analytics

We use Google Analytics to collect data. We need this data to understand how you use our website so we can improve its design and functionality. We also need the data to get the most out of our marketing campaigns.

With your consent, Google Analytics will process and collect your personal data (cookies and IP address) to give us valuable information. Google Analytics will transfer your data to the United States and store it for 26 months. To learn more about Google's data transfer policies, click here.

Standard contractual clauses are legal clauses written by the European Commission. They are part of a contract between Google Ireland Ltd. and Google LLC, and Google LLC must follow them. Standard contractual clauses tell Google LLC what it can and cannot do with your data.

You have certain rights over your data: for example, you can require us to delete them or to provide you with a copy. We take responsibility for the processing of your data. Beamer

We use Beamer to collect data. Beamer is a full suite of tools that includes a changelog, push notifications, net promoter score surveys (NPS), and roadmap designed to improve our ability to improve engagement and user experience.

The amount and type of information that Beamer gathers depends on the nature of the interaction. For example, users visitors who sign up are asked to provide a username and email address. Those who engage in transactions with Beamer are asked to provide additional information, including as necessary the personal and financial information required to process those transactions.

In each case, Beamer collects such information only insofar as is necessary or appropriate to fulfill the purpose of the visitor’s interaction with Beamer. Beamer does not disclose personally-identifying information other than as described below. And visitors can always refuse to supply personally-identifying information, with the caveat that it may prevent them from engaging in certain website-related activities.

The Personal Data processed concern the following type and categories, including any special categories of data:

- Date and time when Beamer script is loaded

- Preferred language used to access Beamer

- Anonymized format IP address

- Device type (unique device identifiers), operating system, and browser type

- Geographic location (approximate)

- Referring url and domain

- Pages visited

- Email (optional)

Beamer uses cookies to help Beamer identify and track visitors, their usage of Beamer website, and their website access preferences. Beamer visitors who do not wish to have cookies placed on their computers should set a refusal via the Piwik privacy control manager pop-up.

Beamer will transfer your data to the United States and store it for a period of 12 months from the date of inactivity.
